Hello, I’m Dr. Toni Li, a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY #32452). Thank you for taking the time to learn about me in your quest to find the right provider.
I believe we are all a product of our experiences, upbringing, and relations with others. As an Asian American who was raised by Chinese immigrants in California, I observed from a young age of how culture, values, relationships, hardships and strengths impact not only an individual, but also others.
I am passionate in working with youth and adults, especially those who grew up in immigrant families, as I can deeply identify and understand many of the common struggles experienced.
I started my journey in the mental health field by volunteering and working with women who were survivors of exploitation, abuse and domestic violence. Afterwards in graduate school, I worked with a diverse clientele across the lifespan in a variety of settings. I completed the last two years of my training at hospital clinics working primarily with youth and families.
In therapy, I typically draw from techniques utilizing psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). However, I recognize that each person is different and I will tailor treatment specifically to you and your needs.
I invite you to contact me for a free 15-minute consultation phone or video appointment so I can gain some understanding of what you hope to achieve in therapy for yourself or for your child. Additionally, this will help us get a sense of whether or not we would be a good match working together. You may learn more about my specialties here and review my CV here.
